Watch: Bill Cowher breaks table in two to honor Bills Mafia

Nobody has ever questioned the toughness of former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher, but the former NFL linebacker went old school pro wrestling Sunday.

On Sunday’s “The NFL Today” pregame show before Sunday’s wild-card game between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars, Cowher was favoring the craziness of the fan-based Bills Mafia as he crashed through a long table while yelling “Buff-a-lo,” splitting the furniture in two with a two-handed spike.

Mind you, Cowher has a way to go before he can stack up with some of the WWE’s finest table smashers. But it’s a start.

Jon Gruden returning to Oakland to coach Raiders

The Oakland Raiders officially announced the hiring of Jon Gruden as their next coach Saturday night, The East Bay Times reported.

>> Read more trending news

The Raiders announced the hiring of Gruden in a news release shortly after he finished calling the Chiefs-Titans playoff game for ESPN on Saturday afternoon. The team called a news conference for Tuesday afternoon to introduce Gruden, who coached the Raiders from 1998 to 2001.

Gruden’s 10-year, $100 million contract is the richest in NFL coaching history and matches Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson (both with the Cowboys) for the longest, the Times reported.

Gruden began his head-coaching career in Oakland 20 years ago Monday, leading the Raiders for four seasons before spending seven as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ head coach. He is the second-youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl in NFL history, winning a ring at age 39 in his first season with Tampa Bay.

He hasn’t coached in the NFL since leading the Buccaneers in 2008.

Gruden will replace Jack Del Rio, who went 25-23 in three seasons with the franchise.

Gruden's return to coaching ends his nine-year stint with ESPN.

"It's an emotional and bittersweet day for our ‘Monday Night Football’ family, as today we say goodbye to coach Gruden after nine very distinguished years coaching this ‘Monday Night Football’ group," ESPN analyst Sean McDonough said at the beginning of Saturday's game.

The Texas native explained about disciplining her 3-year-old daughter, “I warn her. I’m like, ‘Hi, I’m going to spank you on your bottom if you don’t stop right now. Like, this is ridiculous.’”

Justin Timberlake's newest single getting 'Filthy' reaction

The track is from “Man of Woods,” Timberlake’s fifth solo album, which is scheduled to be released Feb. 2, Billboard reported. It is the first album for the 36-year-old singer since “The 20/20 Experience -- 2 of 2,” which was released in September 2013.

Timberlake advised his fans to play “Filthy” very loud, and the electro track is much different than his 2016 song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”

Here is some of the reaction by Twitter fans:

Tennis champ Serena Williams pulls out of Australian Open

Fans of tennis champion Serena Williams will definitely have a wait before getting to see the superstar back in action.

The new mom announced that she was withdrawing from the upcoming Australian Open in a statement Thursday. Just last year, the 36-year-old won her seventh title at the Australian Open while eight weeks pregnant with her daughter Alexis Olympia.

This year, however, neither Williams nor her infant daughter with husband Alexis Ohanian — she married the Reddit founder in a lavish “Beauty and the Beast” themed ceremony in 2017 — will be making an appearance to defend the title.

“After performing in my first match after giving birth I realized that although I am super close I’m not where I personally want to be,” she wrote on Snapchat.

“My coach and team always said ‘Only go to tournaments when you are prepared to go all the way.’ With that being said I am disappointed to say I’ve decided not to compete in The Australian Open this year.”

Williams made her post-maternity return to the court in a Dec. 30 exhibition match just four months after giving birth. Unfortunately, the newlywed was defeated by French Open champion Jelana Ostapenko, 20, after a super tiebreaker.

“However, the memory of last year’s Open is one that I will carry with me and Olympia and I look forward to coming back again. I appreciate the support and understanding of my fans and everyone at the Australian Open,” she finished with a signature.

Williams revealed her pregnancy in a Snapchat photo last April. The athlete wore a yellow bathing suit showing off her baby bump photo along with the caption, “20 weeks.”

The shocking announcement nearly broke the internet, with Williams revealing that the photo reveal had actually been an accident.

“I was on vacation just taking some time for myself. I have this thing where I’ve been checking my status and taking pictures every week to see how far along I’m going,” she said to Gayle King during an interview. She shared that she’d been saving the photos for a personal collection until she began getting notifications and missed calls.

Obama’s appearance on Letterman’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” is set for Jan. 12, Netflix announced Friday.

Each show is “centered around one extraordinary figure whom Dave finds fascinating” and will include conversations that are “intimate, in-depth and far-reaching.” the company said. Netflix will air one episode a month.

The former president often appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” when Letterman was the host. Obama visited the late-night staple eight times while Letterman was the host – three times while he was president, according to The Hill.

Letterman resigned from his post on the show in 2015 after nearly 22 years at the helm.

The former late-night host has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, calling his presidency “an experiment” that didn’t work earlier this year during an interview with Howard Stern. He also said that “it’s time to go” for the president.

Obama will be the first guest on Letterman’s six-part series for the streaming giant. He will also host Jay-Z, Howard Stern, George Clooney, Tina Fey, and Nobel Prize-winning activist Malala Yousafza.

Although this will be Obama’s first talk show interview since leaving the Oval Office, he did sit down for an interview with Prince Harry in September.

During that interview, he answered a broad range of questions, including a “lightning round” where he chose Aretha Franklin over Tina Turner, Michael Jordan over Lebron James, but declined to answer the boxers or briefs question.

He also revealed during that interview that he’s “obsessed” with training the next generation of leaders, which he does through the Obama Foundation.

Country singer Mickey Gilley was in high spirits despite being involved in an automobile accident Wednesday in east Texas, KTRK reported.

“The airbags didn't deploy,” the 81-year-old singer said. “I don't know if that was a blessing or a curse.”

Gilley suffered a broken ankle and fractured shoulder after the car he and his son were in flipped at an intersection to avoid another car, KTRK reported.

Gilley said his son was driving a Toyota Scion northbound on U.S. 59 as they headed toward the singer’s home in Branson, Missouri. When another car crossed in front of them at an intersection, Gilley’s son swerved to avoid it and their car flipped, KTRK reported.

“It was like slow motion,” Gilley told KTRK. “The unbelievable feeling you get when you know you're going to hit something and there's nothing you can do about it.”

He remembers his son cutting him out of his seat belt. He was photographed in a red jacket after he was rescued.

“At 81, I'm very lucky. When I open my shows now, I tell the people I just turned 81, I hope I look like I'm 50. I walk like I'm 90,” Gilley said. "So I'm gonna be walking like I'm 100 now, with this boot on my left leg.”
