Smiling--Even When You Don't Mean It--Could Be Good For You

As the Republican National Convention comes to Tampa Bay, you know we’re all going to have to keep our sense of humor a bit when it comes to things like road closures and traffic issues, especially if you live or work in South Tampa. Well, I just saw some interesting info on the New York Daily News' website about smiling—even when you don’t mean it. It says that smiling is good for you even when you don’t mean it because when you’re feeling stressed or bummed out, faking it and putting a big old smile on will help lower your heart rate, release stress and even make you happier. Who knew?  And for those times you're caught being really naughty...while you won’t be thought to be less guilty, smiling will make whoever you've annoyed more lenient and they’ll tend to go a bit easier on you because smiling make you seem more trustworthy.
