Give Credit Where It's Due

If you have children and you wonder if they’re actually paying attention, read this next letter from loyal listener Whitney who didn’t say but I am guessing is in her teenage years. It’s a very sweet dedication to her dad for being so hard working and involved in her life…

My dad has two jobs. From 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. he goes to work. When he comes home he checks my sister’s and my math. Then he goes over our other lessons with us and he helps me with my history when we get home from swim practice. After we eat dinner, he teaches us Latin and Esperanto.

By the time we’re done it’s very late and he is exhausted. Finally he takes a shower and goes to bed. You would think that he would sleep like a rock, right? Wrong! My dad is a light sleeper, so once you wake him up he can’t go back to sleep. So he gets up with very little sleep and the whole routine starts over.

Despite all this, he works hard and makes sure we are learning. Could you play a daddy/daughter song to show him our appreciation? Thanks, Whitney

Okay, if my children are as dialed into my schedule as Whitney is to her dad’s, I would be shocked. Perhaps they notice more than we give them credit for. And I think it’s so sweet Whitney wants to recognize her dad for his sacrifices and hard work he puts in for his family. Great dedication!

Who in your life deserves some recognition for being so wonderful? Write to me and tell me what they’ve done or what they do that makes you take notice. Email me at D@Delilah.com today.
