It was a day like no other for a listener named Deborah. She walked into work ready to take on the day and walked out a couple hours later ready to take a flight. Just wait till you read this romantic tale and try not to get green with envy (reserve the green for St. Patrick’s Day)…

My husband and I have been together for over 35 year and we are like newlyweds. Last Thursday I went to work like a normal day. The only difference was my boss asked me to be there one hour earlier because he had an appointment coming in.

I am the sales manager for a sports club so I worked out and after I got dressed the appointment still hadn’t arrived. At about 9 a.m. a woman from the front desk came into my office to let me know that someone had arrived. I walked out of my office to greet this man and saw my husband standing there with roses and my 26-year-old son flashing pictures of me. He said, “Get all your stuff; we have to leave. We have an 11:30 flight.”

On the way to the airport my husband told me when we landed he wanted to buy me a dress to wear. We landed in Miami and chose a dress, then we jumped into a limo for the hotel. That night dinner was planned at the hotel. During dinner my husband gave me a gift. I opened it and there were rose petals along with two tickets to a concert. The next night we took a limo to the concert which was in Miami.

My friends wish their husbands would do something like this for them. You don’t have to fly to Miami or purchase concert tickets but you could surprise your spouse with a special night, a date night, a fun day, a night in a nearby hotel, just to be romantic.
