In addition to having a house full of kids I also have a house full of animals. We love our pets and I know I’m not alone when I say they bring a different kind of joy into our lives. So I thought I would dedicate today’s newsletter to the people who care for our furry friends and share this sweet note of appreciation from Amy who runs a dog rescue facility…

I was hoping you could give a shout out to all of our awesome volunteers and to anyone else who rescues animals! We all have regular full-time jobs and then we devote the rest of our time to saving homeless dogs.

We don't get paid in money, but we are paid with the unconditional love of grateful furry friends, lots of puppy kisses, and the joy at the first happy tail wag from a dog that has been abused, neglected, and scared. It is hard work, but we wouldn't want to be doing anything else.

I would just like to say to each of my volunteers, "I love you, I thank you, I am humbled by your dedication to follow me on this rescue journey, and I thank God for each of you." And Delilah, thank you for being you! You have spent many nights keeping me company while sitting up with sick puppies and scared dogs. I can always count on you being there. Amy

This brings me to another good point I could have added to yesterday’s email about springing into action. Get involved! Let your heart lead you to an organization you believe in and volunteer. You’ll be serving others, making friends and probably having some fun too. If you can find the time and the heart to volunteer, you will not regret your decision to help make someone’s life a little better. Just a thought!
