Welcome to the Fit Kids Blog on Magic 94.9!  I am so excited to be a part of the family on Magic!   I am a Tampa resident and mother of 3, soon to be 4,  kids!  I am a busy and active Tampa Mama that enjoys playing around in Tampa with my family, finding fun things to do to keep my bunch active and healthy.  I launched a project called Fit Kids Playground 4 years ago in Tampa to do just that. 

I am just like most Moms out there: fighting the everyday challenges to get my kids to eat their vegetables, carting everyone to sports and afterschool activities, trying my best to sit down to family meals at the table.  I am not perfect.  I am not a nutritionist.  But I do know that an apple is healthier than French fries.  I know that getting my kids outside to play is better than sitting in front of the TV for 3 hours a day.  I try my best each day to get my kids eating healthy, understanding why we are eating healthy foods and keeping the balance of health and wellness in my home.  I want what every parent wants:  a healthy family.

How we as parents promote healthy habits in our homes with our families is a conversation that needs to be had.  There is so much to learn about, become more aware about.  And by talking and sharing how we as parents and caregivers do things in our family, maybe we can help someone else out there get healthy.  Through small and simple ideas, let’s share what has worked for us!  The possibilities are endless!  I want to inspire and make more parents aware that we can all have healthy and fit kids.  Yes, there are many challenges that might seem like the Berlin Wall at times, but if we don’t start somewhere, that wall will never come down.
