We’re never too old to learn something new, right? I’ve been looking at the Calendar of Events at Nature’s Food Patch and found quite a few I’d like to be sitting front and center. Click here to see for yourself, but I’ve been planning ahead for April. What I do like is the wide range of classes; for instance, on April 10th, you can learn everything you need to know about Sauerkraut from Urban Greens Mike Urban. If you’ve had to deal with Fibromyalgia like I do, Pam Ross, P.A. with Virasyl will be in on the 11th. Later in the month, you can check into the world of Midwives, take a produce tour, and the one I want to be at is with Brad Myers. It’s a raw foods class, and I’ve already invited Brad into our Florida Central Credit Union Theater for a demonstration I can share with all of you.
A warm welcome to one of the newest restaurants over by International Plaza – Cooper’s Hawk on Boy Scout Blvd which officially opened this week. I had a little behind the scenes tour last week, and it’s a beautiful place with me in mind…the gift shop is right at the entrance. But it’s more their own wines at Cooper’s Hawk. Could be fun to set up a tasting for you and some friends. I plan on joining them for brunch soon so I can let you know if this is somewhere you need to be on a “Simply Sunday.”
And coming up this weekend in Kelly’s Kitchen, you’ll hear from the boys of Beekman 1802, the latest winners of The Amazing Race. Brent and Josh have something special to share with us in Kelly’s Kitchen in support of small farms everywhere. I’ll be speaking with Josh and you’ll be able to hear the whole interview right here this weekend.
Of course, it’s also St Patrick’s Day weekend, so indulge in a great corned beef sandwich and your favorite brew for me. But please celebrate responsibly. There's a great family-friendly event coming up on Saturday as once again the Hillsborough River turns green for the "Mayor's River 'O Green Festival." Hope to see you all there!
