Did you hear? Some new airline rules go into effect today. And for anyone that has purchased a ticket recently (and been frustrated) or for anyone who will be booking a ticket soon (and will be pleased) check these out. As of today:
1. All airlines must disclose all taxes and fees in their advertised prices. In other words no more looking up a price and seeing say: $249 only to click purchase and suddenly see $300.
2. Airlines will no no longer be able to raise prices even after you've purchased the ticket. Yep, believe it or not there were a few that in the fine print said they had this right and you'd have to pay before you could board.
3. Airlines will have to now promptly tell passengers either by phone or email if there are any delays.
4. All baggage fees must be disclosed in advance
and our personal favorite (drum roll...)
5. You'll now have 24 hours to cancel your reservation! This is great for anyone who has ever ever had a panic attack before clicking purchase (and after reading the "no refunds", "changes" etc. right above it!) Keep in mind though, you'll only be able to cancel if you've booked your flight at least a week in advance.
