Tired of your old toys collecting dust? Mattel is looking to recycle those long-forgotten Barbies and Matchbox cars to help the planet.

The company has launched PlayBack in the U.S and Canada.

First, you dig out all the Barbies, Matchbox and MEGA toys that are no longer played with and box them up.

Then visit the PlayBack site and fill out a return form and generate a shipping label. The postage is paid for by the company.

Then just put the label on the box and ship it.

Mattel will recycle what it can and reuse the materials in new toys. What can’t be reused will either be downcycled into other plastic items or converted from garbage to energy.

“Mattel toys are made to last and be passed from generation to generation,” Mattel President and Chief Operating Officer Richard Dickson said in a statement, according to USA Today. “Our Mattel PlayBack program is a great example of this, enabling us to turn materials from toys that have lived their useful life into recycled materials for new products.”

Right now, the program only accepts Barbie, Matchbox and MEGA items but will be expanded in the future.

Mattel had pledged to use 100% recycled, recyclable or bio-based plastics in all products and packaging by 2030, CNN reported.

Two Fisher-Price items, Rock-a-Stack, Baby’s First Blocks and three Mega Bloks sets are currently made from bio-based plastics, USA Today reported.
