LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — A bull, slated for slaughter as part of a Muslim holiday, is instead enjoying his last hurrah.

The bull has been on the loose since Monday morning, and at least one doorbell camera captured video of the 1,500-pound beast strolling around a neighborhood.

Lisa Jaeger, of Jaeger’s Run Animal Rescue, told News 12 of Long Island that the bull escaped from a Barnes Road farm in Moriches.

“I think he’s probably exhausted and thirsty, and he’s going to go to a water source,” Jaeger told the TV station.

The bull, last spotted Tuesday night by an animal rights activist, remained at large Wednesday afternoon, News 12 Long Island reported.

According to WABC, the bull was scheduled to be sacrificed as part of the celebration of the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, for which livestock slaughters are customary, when he eluded handlers.

“It just started chasing everybody,” Tasbir Ahammed, of East New York, who was one of about 50 people attending the ceremony, told the TV station.

Meanwhile, Shiful Islam told WABC that he was exiting his car for the ceremony when the bull charged him. He scraped his wrist and finger when he slipped while attempting to elude the bull.

Once the beast is located, the bull is expected to be tranquilized and relocated to a New Jersey animal sanctuary, the outlet reported.
