RALEIGH, N.C. — A body discovered in a North Carolina electrical substation on Sunday has been identified as 25-year-old Tyrell Cohen, twin brother of NFL running back Tarik Cohen, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Tyrell Cohen was reported missing Saturday night after he failed to return home, WRAL reported.

According to the TV station, authorities believe Tyrell Cohen entered the perimeter of the Duke Power substation while fleeing law enforcement. Authorities also believe he died of electrocution while trying to climb some of the substation’s equipment.

Eric Curry, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, told The News & Observer that Tyrell Cohen fled the scene of a car accident near Interstate 540 and Six Forks Road at around 2 a.m. Saturday. Deputies resumed searching for Tyrell Cohen early Sunday morning until a Duke Energy employee reported finding his body.

Neither the sheriff’s office nor investigators with the Raleigh Police Department suspect foul play in Tyrell Cohen’s death, the newspaper reported.

Tarik Cohen, a standout running back for both Franklin County’s Bunn High School and North Carolina A&T, was selected by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
