The Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department said the man was pinned underneath a gun safe that weighed about 2,000 pounds, according to WXFR.

Fire crews used airbags to stabilize the safe during the rescue, the news outlet reported.

The man was airlifted to the hospital for treatment, WXFR reported. No information about the extent of his injuries has been released.

“This was an unusual call for service and is one that most would never think about having to overcome. This shows the dedication of your hardworking volunteers who strive to provide a level of readiness, through training and equipment, that our community deserves,” the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department said.
