Woman in electric wheelchair accused of robbing Florida bank

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is in custody after authorities said she robbed a Florida bank while in an electric wheelchair.

According to ActionNewsJax, the incident occurred shortly before noon Monday at a bank near Bay and Laura streets in Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, a 39-year-old woman in an electric wheelchair, went into the bank to discuss her account and became angry. Officers said the woman then threatened the teller and left with cash, the news outlet reported.

An officer in a patrol later found the woman near the intersection of East First and North Liberty streets and took her into custody, according to ActionNewsJax.

No injuries were reported in the incident, authorities said.
