The Best Foods to Bring to Every Summer Outing

Which sounds the best to you?

The 2,300-square-foot restaurant opened at 314 N. White St. — formerly home to Coleman’s Garage — in late July, marking the fourth location for Charlotte chef Jim Noble's chicken sandwich brand. Bossy Beulah’s is known for its signature fried chicken sandwich, called the “Beaut" — a fried Joyce Farms chicken breast with Duke’s mayonnaise and house-made pickles on a Copain bun. The concept dishes up a limited menu. There’s Bossy Bites; the Hot Thigh Sandwich; the Bossy Salad; and sides such as fries, a simple salad and Iredell slaw. There’s also soft-serve ice cream and desserts made by Copain Bakery.

Here are the best foods to bring to every type of outing this summer. . .

1.  The pool or beach.  Fresh cut fruit is perfect for pool or beach days because it tastes nice and cold, and helps replenish lost sugars and hydration.

2.  An MLB ballpark.  A lot of people don’t know that you can bring food into several MLB stadiums.  Salty snacks like nuts and Chex Mix, or small premade sandwiches, are the way to go here.

3.  An outdoor concert.  Go for low-maintenance foods like a hoagie or wrap.  A big ole Pub Sub would be the best in this moment!

4.  A picnic.  Everybody thinks to pack their own basket, but takeout food like sandwiches or a bucket of fried chicken is really underrated for a summer picnic.
