POOL NOODLE HACK #2: Paint Brush Holder
What You Need:
- Pool Noodles
- Paint brushes
- Tupperware container
What to Do:
Using a serrated knife (again, adults only please!), cut your pool noodle to fit the side of your tupperware container. On one side, cut through the center of the hole so that you can secure the noodle to the side of your tupperware container. Cut slits for as many paintbrushes as you’d like and you’re all done with this easy hack!
Living in Florida, you either own a pool (and subsequently 12 million pool noodles), or you know someone who is in the aforementioned situation.
Either way, once you’re done with those noodles at the end of the summer - do you think your only option is to throw them away? BECAUSE IT’S NOT!!
There’s basically a million and one things you can do to re-purpose a pool noodle.
This week, we’re diving into three of my favorites!!
POOL NOODLE HACK #1: Mattress Bumpers
What You Need:
- Pool Noodles (2)
- A Mattress
What to Do:
First, let me say that THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE DONE IN A BABY’S CRIB. Putting anything in or around your baby’s mattress is a potential suffocation hazard. This trick is for the wiggly toddler that you are transitioning into a big boy/big girl bed.
If you’re using one of those transitional cribs that turns into a toddler bed (but still uses the crib-size mattress) you may need to cut these down just a little bit. A serrated knife is all that you need. Again, you’d think it goes without saying that this would be a step for the adult to do, but we’ll just throw it out there to make sure we have all of the bases covered.
Once your pool noodles, simply slide them underneath the sheet and VOILA!! You may not even notice I have mine in place, so I’ve circled them in the picture below. Some people like to tape them onto the mattress for extra security, but I find that mine are just fine resting snug between the sheet and the mattress - so do whichever way you like best!

POOL NOODLE HACK #3: Popsicle Holders
What You Need:
- Pool Noodles
- Popsicles
What to Do:
Have an adult cut a pool noodle into segments (we made ours about 2 ½ inches long each, but do whatever you want!), slide a popsicle inside, and enjoy!! No more cold hands!!!!!
If you have a Mom Hack that makes your life easier, I’d love to hear it and maybe feature it on Fox 13 with Linda Hurtado! You can email me at danielle@MyMagic949.com!
And if you missed this week’s segment, you can watch us bring all of these ideas to life right here...
