Tennessee toddler accidentally shot, killed after another young child finds gun, police say

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee toddler has died after another young child accidentally shot him in a Clarksville home, authorities said.

According to WKRN and WVLT, the incident occurred about 10 p.m. Wednesday at a Pembroke Road home. Clarksville police said one of three young children – all younger than 4 – found an unsecured handgun, which discharged, fatally shooting a 2-year-old boy.

Julian Chester, 31, who is in a relationship with the children’s mother, was arrested “on unrelated charges,” the news outlets reported.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
