According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office website, Nikki Reardon, 32, of Baytown, was booked Monday in the Harris County Jail on charges of tampering with a human corpse, child endangerment, prostitution and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. She remains held on $35,000 bond, KTRK-TV reported.

The arrest came more than six months after Reardon’s infant daughter, Zaydea Danyelea Rainer, was discovered dead at the Scottish Inn and Suites in late September, according to KHOU-TV.

On Sept. 29, Baytown police responded to a report of a body found at the hotel, KHOU reported. Following a standoff with Reardon, who was armed, authorities discovered a pink duffel bag with the dead baby inside, according to the news outlet. Police said they also found marijuana and methamphetamine at the scene.

Reardon, who told police she woke up Sept. 27 to find the child unresponsive, was due in court last month on an aggravated robbery charge but failed to appear, police said.

Officials have not yet revealed how the baby died, KTRK reported.
